U.S. House Of Representatives Cannon Office Building

Ms. Merdon's experience as the Former Acting Architect of the Capitol and Deputy Architect  included providing executive oversight on the largest ($938.5 million) project ever undertaken by the Architect of the Capitol. Built in 1908, designed by Carrère and Hastings, in the Beaux-Arts style, the Cannon House Office Building (CHOB) was the first Congressional building built supporting House member offices. The project is scheduled to be completed in five phases over ten years. The work includes removing hazardous materials, updating mechanical and electrical systems, renewing office space, and restoring historic fabric and spaces.
