U.S. Supreme Court
Provided executive oversight for the Supreme Court Building’s façade phased restoration to address aging, weather, and environmental wear. Designed by Cass Gilbert and built between 1929 and 1935, its exterior features Vermont marble with bronze windows, doors, railings, and fixtures. Restoration included removing bird deterrents, replacing mortar s, and cleaning grime, gypsum crusts, and copper stains. Low-pressure water washing and laser treatments preserved delicate carvings. Special conservation treatments stabilized capitals and statuary. Bronze grilles were returned to their original finish.
